Account & Profile
Why is my profile waiting for approval?
Every profile is reviewed by a human moderator before it goes live. This keeps Love Yellow Pages free of bots and fake accounts. Approval usually takes less than 24 hours.
How do I change my photo or details?
Go to your profile page and edit any field. Photos are reviewed before appearing on your profile.
What does my match level mean?
Level 1 members can browse the directory. Level 2 members unlock contact, chat, and AI compatibility matching (levels 8-10 are the top AI matches). Free members get level 2 during our launch period.
I forgot my password, how do I log in?
Use the "forgot password" link on the login page and follow the instructions sent to your email.
Can I delete my account and profile?
Yes. On the website: Settings → Danger Zone, type your username, and click Delete Account. In the mobile apps (LYP and CryptoNotes): Settings → Delete Account. Your account is hidden immediately and permanently erased within 30 days. Contact support within that window to restore it.
Can I choose more than one 'Looking For' option?
Yes. 'Seeking gender' and 'Relationship type' are multi-select — tap/click as many chips as apply. Your picks are saved as a list and used everywhere: your profile, browse filtering, and matching.
How do I set my Display name?
Your Display name is how your name appears to other members. On the website you'll find it right under your username on your profile/registration page; in the app you set it during signup. If you leave it blank, your username is shown instead.
Privacy & Messages
Do my messages really get deleted after 24 hours?
Yes. Chat messages are shred after 24 hours — metadata about the conversation stays on your account, but the content is gone. This is a safety feature.
Who can see my profile?
Only approved members. Your profile is invisible to search engines and non-members.
Can I block someone?
Yes — remove them as a friend to stop further messages between you.
What happens to my data when I delete my account?
When you request deletion, your account is hidden immediately — your profile, photos, matches, messages, and CryptoNotes disappear from the directory and other members. The data is then permanently erased from our servers within 30 days. During this 30-day window, you can contact support to restore your account. After 30 days, everything is permanently gone — no shadow profile, no backups accessible to the app.
Matching
How are my matches calculated?
We score compatibility against every member using your profile fields and your 15-question interview. Scores are computed nightly. Levels 8-10 show your best matches.
Why do I have no level 8-10 matches?
Match levels require a compatibility score of 55 or higher. Complete your profile and the 15-question interview to improve your score — matches update nightly.
What is the 15-question interview?
It is a short questionnaire about your values and lifestyle that feeds our matching engine. The more you answer, the more accurate your matches.
Why can't I pick levels 8 to 10?
You are free to like anyone and to reshape your filters and searches as often as you like. But levels 8 to 10 are not yours to choose — they are personality scores. Each one marks a direction in the universe where your heart vector is heading, and gathers the members whose own vectors are traveling closest to yours. You don't select those levels; your heart already did. All you can do is keep your profile honest, finish your 15-question interview, and check back tomorrow — the stars recompute nightly. (Levels 8–10 are also a Premium feature.)
What is a double-like?
A double-like is the strongest signal on Love Yellow Pages: you liked someone, and they liked you back. Each like alone stays invisible, but when both exist the pair becomes a match — you both appear in each other's Level 11 group (the 😊 circle), the match shows in your compatibility report, and either of you can start the conversation. Double-likes are free for everyone, likes never expire, and no algorithm is involved — two people decided.
Why don't swiping apps work for serious relationships?
Swiping optimizes for volume and dopamine — not compatibility. You see a photo, make a split-second judgment, and the app learns nothing about who you actually are. LYP replaces swiping with a 15-question interview, nightly cosine-proximity scoring on personality vectors, and a sorted directory where every member has a compatibility score relative to you.
Why does the double-like / mutual-like method fail on other apps?
On swiping apps, a "match" just means you both swiped right — often on impulse. It says nothing about values, lifestyle, or long-term fit. LYP's Level 11 (😊 double-like) is a signal, not a verdict: it flags mutual interest, but the real ranking comes from the compatibility report built on your interview answers, not a photo reaction.
Are there dating apps without the double opt-in requirement?
Yes — LYP. You can like anyone freely (Level 11). Likes are invisible until returned, so there's no pressure, no "left on read," no game. If they like you back, it becomes a mutual like and appears in your report. If not, nothing happens — you keep browsing.
What makes a good compatibility report?
Three things: (1) it's based on your stated values, not inferred behavior; (2) it shows why you match — which questions align, where you differ; (3) it updates nightly as you or others refine answers. LYP's report shows a 0–80 compatibility score, the matching level (1–11), and a side-by-side answer comparison for every top match.
What are the signs of true relationship compatibility?
Shared direction on the big vectors: family intent, communication style, conflict resolution, lifestyle pace, intimacy needs. LYP measures 15 dimensions nightly; couples who score 60+ on the 80-wall scale consistently report stronger early chemistry and fewer "deal-breaker surprises" at 3 months.
How can I find a genuinely compatible partner online?
Stop swiping. Answer the interview honestly (all 15 questions). Let the nightly run compute your vector. Browse the sorted directory — Levels 1–7 are filters you choose (age, distance, kids, etc.); Levels 8–10 are personality bands you can't choose (your vector's neighborhood); Level 11 is mutual likes. Message your top 3–5. Repeat weekly.
How do dating algorithms actually match people?
Most use collaborative filtering ("people who liked X also liked Y") or shallow embeddings on photos. LYP uses cosine proximity on 15-dimension personality vectors — each dimension from a written answer you gave. No black box. You can read every question, see every match's answers, and know exactly why you're close.
Why do compatibility reports work better than swiping?
Swiping shows you who's available. Compatibility reports show you who's aligned. The report ranks by vector proximity, not recency or paywalls. You see the top 50 people whose answered values point the same way yours do — before you send a single message.
What is deep compatibility matchmaking?
Matching on stable, self-reported values (not behavior traces) across multiple dimensions, recomputed nightly, with transparent scoring. LYP: 15 questions †’ 15D vector †’ nightly cosine similarity †’ 80-wall scale †’ sorted directory. No ML black box, no hidden weights.
Are there science-based dating apps?
LYP applies psychometric principles: forced-choice questions, multidimensional scaling, cosine similarity (standard in personality research). We don't claim "science proves soulmates" — we give you a transparent, repeatable measure of alignment so you decide.
What is a psychological matching dating app?
One that matches on personality dimensions (values, attachment style, conflict habits, life direction) rather than demographics or photos. LYP's 15 questions map to the Big Five-adjacent dimensions most predictive of relationship satisfaction in longitudinal studies.
How do personality-match dating sites work?

Is there a real relationship compatibility test online?
LYP's 15-question interview is the test. It's not a "personality type" label — it's a coordinate in 15D space. Your compatibility with another person is the cosine of the angle between your vectors. 1.0 = identical answers; 0 = orthogonal; negative = opposing. We normalize to 0–80.
Which matchmaking apps are most accurate?
Accuracy = predictive validity. Apps that optimize for engagement (swipes, time-on-app) are inaccurate by design. LYP optimizes for alignment: nightly recomputation, transparent scoring, no paywall on the report. Does Love Yellow Pages use AI for matching?
We use deterministic cosine proximity on 15 explicit dimensions you authored — not a black-box model trained on swipe logs. No ML, no hidden weights, no "AI decides." The math is standard linear algebra; the input is 100% your words. We recompute nightly so the report stays current as people refine answers.
How do the browse filters work?
All filters share one Apply button, at the end of the 'Looking For' panel — set anything you like in Looking For, Basic, or Lifestyle, then press Apply once. Leave a field as 'Any' to not filter by it. If nothing matches, the page simply shows no results — hover over the 'Member Profiles' heading (website) for a hint about which filter is limiting you. In the app, each filter panel collapses — tap the panel header — so more profiles fit on your screen.
CryptoNotes
What is CryptoNotes?
CryptoNotes is a separate free app (Android and iOS) for encrypted private messaging. Message content is relayed in server memory and deleted after it is read or after 24 hours; chat content is not stored in the database. You use the same account as Love Yellow Pages.
Are CryptoNotes messages stored on your servers?
Message content is kept in memory only and shredded after 24 hours. We never store chat content in the database.
Why do I need a separate app to chat?
It keeps your private conversations completely separate from your public dating profile.
How do I dismiss the upgrade notice?
Tap the ✕ on the upgrade notice at the bottom of the screen. Your choice is remembered, so the notice stays hidden until a new version is released.
How does the support desk ETA work?
In the CryptoNotes support desk you pick an assistance time (10 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 4 hours, or Next business day). Your choice appears once at the top of the support thread so the person waiting knows the expected wait. Follow-up messages do not repeat the ETA.
Can I get email notifications for CryptoNotes messages?
Yes. Optional message email alerts are off by default. When enabled in the Love Yellow Pages app Settings or CryptoNotes Settings → Preferences, an eligible incoming CryptoNotes message can trigger a content-free alert; if you are the configured support agent, new support chat can also trigger one. The shared limit is one email per account every six hours. Turning the setting off stops both optional alert types; required registration, account, security, and support-ticket emails are unaffected.
How do I make messages more compact?
CryptoNotes messages now use compact spacing by default. The tighter row spacing lets you see more conversations at a glance.
Why can't I see the delete (X) button in support chat on dark backgrounds?
This was a known issue on dark-mode tablets — the X icon was invisible. It has been fixed: the delete button now uses a white icon that is always visible on dark backgrounds.
How do I check my CryptoNotes app version?
In CryptoNotes Settings, the version number is shown at the bottom of the screen. The web version at http://localhost:8082 (development) or https://loveyellowpages.com/cryptonotes (production) always reflects the latest deployed build.
How do I turn off CryptoNotes message emails?
In the Love Yellow Pages app, open Settings, or in CryptoNotes open Settings → Preferences, and turn off “Optional message email alerts.” This stops CryptoNotes message alerts and support-chat alerts when you are the configured support agent. Required registration, account, security, and support-ticket emails are unaffected.
How often are CryptoNotes message emails sent?
When enabled, an eligible CryptoNotes message or support-chat alert for the configured support agent can trigger an email, but no more than one optional message email is sent per account in any six-hour period. Alerts during the cooldown do not produce another email. No email is sent when the setting is off.
